Something New Is Happening ...

Hello Reader,

I hope you are having a great start to 2024! I am excited to share some wonderful news and update you on something that recently happened on both the website and the podcast.

๐Ÿ“ฃ FETC Conference

The FETC Conference this past week was AMAZING. Over 10,000 educators came together and learned from over 600 professional sessions. Before the conference, I had an opportunity to sit down with Jennifer Womble, the chairperson of the conference to learn what makes FETC a destination each year for so many educators and educational technology companies.

I wish to say THANK YOU to everyone who came up to me during the conference to say hello. It was great to catch up with so many of you and I can't wait to see everyone again in Denver for ISTE 2024.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ New Podcasts Launched This Month!

This month, TeacherCast released new episodes on all three of our feeds. You might have noticed a new podcast appear in your favorite podcast player. From the very beginning, the "TeacherCast Podcast" was my flagship show where I would bring educators and edtech on to talk about how to best create learning opportunities for our students. Over the years, the show feed slowed down simply because I had other topics to record that wasn't "traditional".

Due to this reason, this year "The TeacherCast Podcast" has rebranded to become "Digital Learning Today" This title, I believe better reflects my mission to help school districts and instructional coaches move the needle in their classrooms. This also goes along with the name of this very newsletter and my LinkedIn blog.

In addition to the show title being updated, I have also decided to restart the numbering of the episodes. Episode 1 was officially the FETC show with Jennifer (above). The second show was also recently released featuring Dr. Matthew Joseph of xFactor Education.

I hope you have a chance to check out the show and subscribe to this show on your favorite platforms.

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ We Hit the Website Refresh Button! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Last but certainly not least is the BIG NEWS that I launched a brand-new version of TeacherCast this past week. This wasn't on the radar in any way, but with a new year and new adventures comes a new version of TeacherCast.

To bring this updated version to you, I had to first pull down ALL my content and restart the process of formatting it to the new platform. In total, I have about 800 posts and podcasts to refresh, recategorize, and relaunch. This will take some time, but the process has begun.

I would LOVE to get your thoughts on the new platform. I will soon be releasing a blog post detailing what I did to create the new site and what technologies are behind this transition.

This is currently a shell of what the site will be. I have several pages that are currently being designed and I'm working as hard as humanly possible. But ..

Here are links to our current pages ... so far:

I welcome feedback. I'm still trying to get the colors perfected and the blog sidebar isn't quite the way I want it to be ... but I'm working hard as often as I can to create the best experience for you.

๐Ÿซถ On a Personal Note ...

I am sending this newsletter on a positive note to share something that has recently happened to me. As many of you may remember, last year I accepted my first administrative position. While it was a wonderful opportunity, not everything went as planned and I decided in the fall to make a professional move so I could spend more time with my family. (The triplets are only 10 years old once .. right?) I did not mention this news to anyone until this past week at the conference. I am taking a moment to share it with you now.

I am very extremely excited that tomorrow, I will be starting a new position in a Middle School teaching Technology Education to grades 6-8. This new position will give me plenty of opportunity to continue to support a brand new school district, create content on the website, AND be the best dad that I can be for my kids.

I thank you all for the continued support of my work, my platform, my podcast, and my family. THANK YOU!

Until next time ... Keep up the great work in your classrooms, and continue sharing your passions ... with your students.
