Hello Reader,
Every year around this time, I do a full audit of my tech stack. Every app, every subscription, every tool sitting in my browser toolbar. The question is always the same: Did I actually use this?
This year, I got ruthless. And my entire setup — for teaching, grading, and content creation — came down to just 6 tools.
I organized them into 3 categories:
- 🖥️ Productivity: Notion + Google Workspace (Forms & Sites)
- 📊 Grading: GradeTransferer
- 🎨 Content Creation: Canva + Riverside + Google Vids
Canva is the new addition that honestly should have been on this list years ago. I use it for graphics, websites, landing pages, and video projects — and Canva for Education is completely free for K-12 teachers and students.
In the full blog post, I break down each tool — why it earned its spot, how I use it daily, the features that matter most for educators, and what I’d buy first if I were starting from scratch.
I also included links to related TeacherCast posts, podcast episodes, and free resource hubs so you can go deeper on anything that catches your eye.

If you’re planning your own tech stack refresh this summer, I hope this gives you a head start. And if you’ve got a tool I should know about, just hit reply — some of my best finds have come from this community.
Here’s to a strong finish to the school year,
P.S. — If you haven’t tried GradeTransferer yet, do yourself a favor and grab the free trial. It pays for itself in the first week. Trust me on this one.
